Depression Support
TRTP for Depression (The Richards Trauma Process) — helping you move from numb, flat, or stuck… to clear, steady, and connected again.
At Reset Today, we support depression using TRTP (The Richards Trauma Process)—a structured process designed to resolve trauma-related patterns that can sit beneath symptoms like low mood, hopelessness, and emotional shutdown.
Does this feel like you?
Depression can show up differently for different people. Common experiences include:
Feeling flat, heavy, empty, or “not yourself”
Loss of interest or pleasure in activities
Low energy, exhaustion, or moving through the day on willpower
Changes in sleep (too much / too little)
Changes in appetite or weight
Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
Pulling away from people, or feeling disconnected
If your symptoms are severe, worsening, or you’re unsure what’s going on, it’s important to speak with a qualified health professional for assessment and support.
What is depression?
Depressive disorder (depression) is a common mental health condition that involves a depressed mood and/or loss of interest or pleasure for an extended period, and it can affect many areas of life.
Many people also experience physical and cognitive effects—fatigue, sleep disruption, appetite changes, and difficulty concentrating.
When low mood becomes something more
Low mood is part of being human. Depression is more likely when symptoms:
persist for weeks, not just days
impact work, relationships, self-care, or daily functioning
feel disproportionate to what’s happening in your life now
There are effective treatments for depression, and therapy is widely used as part of care (sometimes alongside medical support where appropriate).
How TRTP approaches depression
TRTP focuses on the methodology that many persistent symptoms (including low mood and emotional shutdown) can be linked to unresolved distressing experiences—where the nervous system remains stuck in patterns of threat, collapse, or protection long after the original events are over.
TRTP is commonly described as a structured, sequenced 3-step process that works with the subconscious/unconscious and uses guided imagination (sometimes described as dynamic re-imagination) to help reduce the emotional charge tied to unresolved events.
The aim: help your system register safety in the present—so mood, motivation, and connection can return.

The TRTP process (what we do)
TRTP is described as a structured 3-step process.
While your sessions are tailored, the core sequence commonly includes:
Step 1: Shift unhelpful core beliefs
We address limiting beliefs that can keep people stuck in hopelessness, self-criticism, shame, or “what’s the point?” patterns—so progress can hold.
Step 2: Resolve the emotional charge driving the pattern
We work to reduce the emotional charge held in unresolved distressing events, supporting your system to stop reacting as if the past is still present.
Step 3: Integration and moving forward
We consolidate change into everyday life—relationships, boundaries, self-trust, energy, and purpose.
Important note about talking through the past: TRTP does not require detailed retelling of your story to be effective, compared with traditional approaches.
