Lisa Saltnes

I’m a TRTP practitioner who believes real healing happens when expertise, structure, and genuine human connection come together.

Lisa Saltnes, TRTP Practitioner against white brick wall

My Story

My work is shaped by both professional training and lived experience. Early experiences of prolonged school bullying and continuous emotional challenges in adolescence gave me a very real understanding of how unresolved trauma can influence confidence, self-worth, and our sense of belonging… even when we look like we’ve got it all together.

From the outside, I appeared capable, outgoing, and socially confident. Inside? A lot of self-doubt, disconnect, overthinking, and a overwhelming need to be liked.

Like many highly empathetic people, I learned to prioritise others, ignore my own needs, and operate without healthy boundaries — confusing being needed with being worthy. (It’s exhausting. I don’t recommend it.)
Those experiences didn’t derail me — they shaped the work I do today.

I have been mentored for over six years by Judith Richards, the creator of The Richards Trauma Process (TRTP).
This depth of mentorship and supervision allows me to work closely with clients and achieve consistently strong, meaningful outcomes. My approach is structured, informed, and focused on resolving the subconscious patterns that drive emotional distress and self-sabotaging behaviours — without using talk therapy!
I work at the root level, supporting clients to move beyond self-sabotage, rebuild internal safety, and reconnect with confidence and self-trust.

I bring professionalism, warmth, humour (when appropriate), and a strong capacity for connection, so clients feel safe, regulated, and supported throughout the process.

I often support people who’ve been “functioning” for a long time — successful, capable, and holding it together — while quietly feeling unsettled, disconnected, or stuck underneath.

My style is compassionate, intuitive, kind and results-focused, creating a space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered (and occasionally relieved to laugh).

I believe meaningful healing happens when expertise, structure, and genuine human connection come together — without shame, pressure, or the need to be anyone other than yourself.

Through TRTP, clients can step out of self-sabotage and internal conflict, and reconnect with a simple truth:

I am enough.
More than enough.
More than I will ever be called upon to be.
Because I matter.

Who I help

I work with a wide range of clients who are experiencing various symptoms and severity. Here aresome of the more common scenarios:

You may be a fit for working together if you’re experiencing:

  • anxiety, hypervigilance, or a nervous system that won’t switch off

  • stress and overwhelm, emotional exhaustion, or shutdown

  • low mood, flatness, disconnection, or loss of motivation

  • confidence and self-worth struggles

  • relationship triggers and repeated patterns

If you’re unsure, start with a short conversation and we’ll discuss suitability.

My approach with TRTP

I practise TRTP (The Richards Trauma Process) and guide clients through a clear, structured process that works with trauma-related patterns at the subconscious level.

For the past several years, I have worked closely alongside Judith Richards, creator of TRTP, under direct mentorship—supporting deepening skill, safety, and effectiveness in how the work is delivered.

In practical terms, clients often come to TRTP after trying other approaches and still feeling “stuck”—because insight alone hasn’t shifted what their body and nervous system are doing. TRTP is designed to address what sits underneath symptoms so change can hold.

What to expect working with me

I keep the process calm, structured, and supportive.

  1. Initial conversation — what you’re experiencing and what you want to change

  2. Suitability + plan — we confirm fit and explain how sessions work

  3. Guided sessions — paced, structured, and outcome-focused

  4. Integration — support to stabilise progress into everyday life

What matters to me in this work

  • Clarity: You’ll understand what we’re doing and why

  • Compassion without collapse: You’ll be met with respect, not judgement

  • Outcomes: We keep the work focused and practical

  • Healing rather than management: I work on resolving the issues at their core – Not ongoing management of symptoms
